Now your mobile devices could get a solar charge on the go for a new and sustainable city life.

Belgrade-based architect Miloš Milivojević of Strawberry energy has invented the perfect on-the-go charging in the city for everybody’s cell phones and assorted mobile devices like tablets, MP3 players, and other devices.

According to Strawberry energy:

“Side by side, we can build a clean energy future of smarter cities that care for their residents, commuters and visitors.  Let’s use innovative technology to build more sustainable, smart urban spaces that support the increasingly diverse needs of people who use them.”

These super stylish solar-powered Strawberry Smart Benches were recently unveiled in front of Crossrail Station in Canary Wharf, as well as at the Jubilee Park, Cabot Square, and Westferry Circus in London.

Not only does the Strawberry Smart Bench solar power your cell phone, but it will also track and show air quality and noise levels, as well as provide an emergency call button that links directly back to the Canary Whar Help Estate Centre.

Charging everywhere throughout London soon!

According to Miloš Milisavljević, the innovative CEO and founder of Strawberry energy (Senergy), he expects to expand the number of his Strawberry Smart Benches by the end of the year to ten more mobile device charging benches throughout greater London.

“By supporting technology powered by renewable energy, we can help turn the whole society green,” said Milisavljević.

“Working with like-minded partners, we can enhance public spaces together and motivate people to enjoy hands-on experience of renewable energy.”

Strawberry Energy’s Smart Bench is one of the four winning innovations of the ‘Connecting people and creating communities’ competition run by the Institute for Sustainability in partnership with the Mayor of London’s Office.

A winning innovation in Connecting People and Creating Communities

As one of the winners, founder and CEO of the Strawberry energy startup, Miloš Milisavljević, had the opportunity to deliver a pitch in front of the Deputy Mayor and members of the Smarter London Innovation Networks (SLINs) in City Hall on 17th of September 2015.

Apart from the pitch, Milisavljević laid out innovative ideas and opportunities for enhancing the smartness of Strawberry energy’s public spaces with members of Smart London Districts Network and a range of other organisations.

The competition, along with a competition seeking Smart wayfinding solutions, was an opportunity for small businesses and entrepreneurs to come forward with innovative solutions which could help regeneration projects meet the demands of London’s growing population.

The Smart London Districts Network is a group of organisations leading some of the highest-profile redevelopment districts in London, with the aim of supporting the Mayor of London’s vision for ‘smart city’ innovation.

The SLINs help to make London’s growth economically, environmentally and socially sustainable by identifying key challenges and stimulating take-up of digital technologies which will improve the lives of Londoners (www.smarterlondon.co.uk).

And this is not the only recognition for the Strawberry Smart Bench. Strawberry energy was also the national winner of CESA 2015 for its “Best user Experience” in Serbia earlier this year.
